Public bug reported:
Ubuntu Jaunty and/or Karmic:
aplay, among other sound playing recording utilities, use
snd_device_name_hint() to enumerate known devices. However, with the
current (inherited from upstream) namehint policy, neither pulse or
default are shown - very valid devices if you ask
It would be helpful if you could set debug level to 9, reproduce the
crash and post log here. I've fixed couple of bugs in background
handling code for 0.8, and I probably could backport them to 0.7.6, but

Any idea how to rephrase it better?

If the resume didn't work in the end and the computer is stuck, how can
it appear to have worked? Or does this mean that the resume failure
scripts didn't notice it any more?

The gnome-language-selector UI does not make use of translations. It's
translated in jaunty, hasn't been touched since, the same template is
used for karmic, but no translation is used. This is a serious issue.

I'm seeing the exact same issue with python plasmoids on this new karmic
install. My other system, where I upgraded from a previous version of
Kubuntu is working fine. :\
Installing the python-dev and (jaunty) python-plasma package on the new
system does not resolve the problem for me.
