It turns out that our efforts to fix #425914 were insufficient. While
some scripts source eucalyptus.conf, the CC parses it itself, so our
shell code to source the installer-cc.conf is simply ignored.
We need to put the debconf values directly into eucalyptus.conf or
Bug 433386 requires System;Settings to stay (but not for Ubuntu, just
for UNR), so this needs to be done in gnome-menus instead, similar to
gnome-app-install.

Claeys mentioned, accepted the untrusted certificate, closed firefox and
started it again (just firefox, no LANG=C firefox) and voila, it
works.

Same here, Karmic Alpha 6. I didn't have any problems/errors intalling
Karmic, but in the grub.cfg the uuid for Jaunty was set to Karmic's
uuid. When I updated Karmic today, the manually corrected entry was
overwritten with the wrong uuid again.

testing with 2.6.31-101-imx51 i now left the battery charge for two days but
there doesnt seem to be a difference ...
reboot works and keeps the time just fine, shutting down, removing power and
booting up again gets me the clock to 01.01.1970
