You're right, gvfs-fuse does not work with NFS homes right now, at least
not with root-squashing enabled. UID 0 needs to get access to ~/.gvfs
for mounting, which fails in this case. Unfortunately, the path for
.gvfs cannot be easily changed.

Ok, tried the Karmic alpha-release (6). The 64 bit version doesn't boot
at all, the 32 bit version boots but doesn't detect the memory card.
I finally got the 2.6.31 kernel with sdhci to boot but unfortunately,
any card inserted in the reader is not detected by the module.
Any thoughts?

Ok, I figured out what I was missing: Alacarte showed the Software
Store, but over on the right hand side, after Applications (ie not in
any of Applications's immediate subcategories). Because it was showing
in the main menu as a top level (between System Tools and Places) I
had been looking on

ubuntu 9.04.. when i try to use add or remove i get an error like it says an
application has failed in ur system and one more error i get is
like
it says dpkg error this has all happen because i tried to install phpadmin
and that is wher the problem has started so plzz

I'm experimenting the same issue as ilna describes:
After a upgrade KDE starts, but mouse and keyboard(s) are not usable.
I tried with gdm, but it does not start. (upstart)
I see that no upstart service will be started on boot in my machine. Maybe this
is the whole problem!
Accepted net-snmp into hardy-proposed, the package will build now and be
available in a few hours. Please test and give feedback here. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Thank you in advance!
