After performing an upgrade on 2009-09-28, with the previous upgrade
done on the 27th, this bug appears to have been solved for me. Since

I'm currently trying to reproduce this on my system (using mail-
notification this time). Initially I tried it with forcing just a
fallback-dialog (using notify-osd-trunk/tests/test-modules -p
/libnotify/test_withlib_actions), but that didn't trigger anything while
I executed notify-osd under gdb
OK, so my point is that the confusion comes from the fact that the
current icon does not represent a warning. The ad-hoc connection icon
itself may be good, but the fact that it appears alongside regular
wireless connection icon is confusing. So again, I don't necessarily
think we should change

I have tracked the issue to the memaker.ui file, the IDs of your GUI
components are not unique within the file. This is causing GTK to though
a tantrum. Renaming the IDs to something else (possibly more related to
the job of the UI element (ie. image1 - gtk-save-as-image) would

xsplash gets an EACCES when trying to create it. This might be due to
the weird sticky bit on the /var/log/gdm dir which is root:gdm and

Hi Twig,
I did the update and indeed I get the dialogue box now when accessing it
from the applications menu. I changed the setting to be always visible,
but when I close the box it does not show on the panel. There is
progress, but we are not there yet.
