Update: I found a new work-around. While KDE has problems with fstab
entries starting with UUID= (results in permission denied when
trying to mount that drive via the desktop icon), the following worked
like a charm:

What you are seeing is different. For you no driver loads, and you
probably need an updated intel driver for that device.

I was (or to the unlock screen). Perfect! And this works also for all

Im getting this too. The count still says zero, and the icon isnt
changing and im not getting a notification.

My findings are the same as Darxus':
Using the 29 Sep daily-live i386 image, audio was not immediately audible, but
Daniel's suggested alsa+modprobe commands fixed that.
The model of Vaio used is a 'VGN-B1VP(E)' (as reported by lshal).

Unfortunately not for me. Purging and reinstalling gnome-power-manager did not
help.
Maybe I can try to purge and reinstall the help system, but which package would
this be? Is yelp enough... or do I need to care about some language packages
(my main language is en_US but I have de selected in

Do you still see the bug, especially with karmic or karmic+xorg-edgers?
I had the openarena-benchmark from phoronix running last week. That ran just
fine on comparable hardware and it takes about 10 to 20 minutes to complete, I
guess. That was with current karmic development version +
