I can understand why br0 would need to be static rather than dhcp. I
don't understand why the static network configuration needs to go on br0

This might be a key ring issue. I can enable the wireless from the top
bar; in doing so it asks me to create a keyring password. If I then try
to use system / preferences / network connections to edit the network,
it prompts me if I want to let the application use the keyring. If I allow
it,
have updated today, seems it is like downgrade :(

seconds after FF started, tried few times to reboot with no success, X just

Isn't the core issue here that Ubuntu doesn't have any infrastructure to
provide delta packages like e.g. OpenSuSE does? Because you can start
splitting packages all you want, if an update to a 10MB documentation
package that changes just one file of it requires a 10MB download
without delta

Latitude with said intel chip.
