Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala also suffers from this bug. However, the
workaround I applied in 9.04 (mentioned in the first post in this
thread) causes kernel instability in 9.10. I found out, that this was
because I put the blacklist command in the wrong file.

Hi there i had those problems too. It seems to work after i disables all
iptables modules.
I think this bug caused by wrong-not good iptables policy .
As I'm a regular desktop user, and i sit behind router I find it ok to
remove iptables.

Tried the approach posted by Jani and still doesn't work. The only way I
can get connection is by creating the directory myself and then doing
ifup eth0. Nothing else works!!!

My 'workaround' is to set the brightness level in 'System-Preferences-Power
Management' to '0 %'.
I also have turned off all options in there for Dimming the display or reducing
brightness.
This stops the flashing at startup, or when coming out of suspend.
Then add the 'brightness applet' to
Update - the original USB errors seem to have been the result of a dodgy
cable, things are now working fine with a sturdier looking one. I don't
know if a kernel warning is the right thing to happen under these
circumstances, or if there is still a problem in the error handling

The Long Story:
Apparently dmraid took my two partitions. Not exactly sure what it does with
them, but it does prevent them from showing up within the /dev directory.
I read a lot of forums and found a simple way to have the partition show up as
/dev/sdb1. You open

The Xorg.0.log would be interesting to see, however I suspect chances
are small that a relevant error message will appear there.
Another debugging technique which might be more fruitful is to use
xtrace. Xtrace sits in between the client and X server, and gives you a
stream of all the commands

9.04 kernel doesn't boot from FAT32 (9.04 wubi can't create a number of
disk-files in size 4Gb and trying to create single full_size file like on
NTFS, so he can't and hangup. But installing
after rebooting system, driver has marked as installed, and wifi started
to work.

This bug should be reopened as I had the same problem on Karmic.
OpenOffice.org does not depend on openoffice.org-wiki-publisher to be installed
and the wiki-publisher package isn't installed by default on Ubuntu.
Nevertheless, the export function is still present when using OOo Writer and
@mgz i am using openerp 5.06 on jaunty successfully , even manage to start
server automatically at server startup , for that I make openerp-server as
deamon
