Even when boosted to maximum (480% I think) the audio on my netbook is
not loud enough, and extremely crackly through the internal speakers and
external speakers/headphones. The problem was fixed when I enabled
Multimedia Systems Selector and selected ALSA audio, and

I tried opening a MPEG2 program stream (recorded from DVB-T). This
worked find with previous versions of avidemux-gtk (hardy that is).
After indexing, avidemux could play seek in the file. Now playback is
choppy, seeking does not work.

this bug-report. Or tell me what GPU and driver you are using? Your
described problem looks very much like a driver-bug with the ati-video-
