This bug still causes issues on 9.10 karmic. The wifi signal drops out
after a while of being connected and while connected the system seems to
hang intermittently for no reason. While hanging, the active application
(usually firefox for me) "greys out", but the CPU load (according to the

I don't think this is a driver problem either. If I'm not mistaken, the
nVidia (or whatever) drivers aren't even loaded at this point, which
means it's still using the standard VESA driver until X loads up.
It's also interesting that this is affecting everyone with 1440x900
screens, which is a 16:

Consider this: If the user even *knows* where in the filesystem their
files are kept is, then they probably also know that it is different
from just "/home", and they probably also know that "home directory" is
the proper name. If they don't, it takes all of 30 seconds for them to
find out.

There are probably a bunch of things that merge does that merge-package
doesn't, it would be great to fix them all in one go if it is not too much work.

I have a similar problem with a battery by the same manufacturer.
The charge full value just seems wrong (especially when compared with
the charge now value) and I get a warning when booting. However this
only seemed to become a problem for me when I upgraded to 9.04. 9.10
didn't fix it.

I have a similar problem but it is not a cups problem. I cannot see the
attached pdf properly except in acroread.
It does not work with okular, gv, evince, xpdf. I attached the pdf and the

If I compile and manually install the latest OpenChrome driver, I
suppose I have to first uninstall the version installed by default. If
the new version is no good, will I be able to easily remove it? There
are no uninstall instructions on that page.

I have the same weird behaviour from the sound system. HP Mini 2133,
fresh Karmic installation. uname reports 2.6.31-14-generic.
pulse says "card not found - dummy audio".
After several trials I can say the problem most likely stands in the
(configuration of) snd-hda-intel module. In fact, the or
