Any update on that bug? I need to reinstall grub on a daily basis after
using Windows 7, and I have a Dell Vostro 1520 but without any Dell
software (at least, no backup tool). I cannot pinpoint the software in
Windows that destroys the grub. It fails to load after 5 seconds (Grub
is loading...)
I've just started seeing this problem a few weeks ago, even though I've
been using Evolution for several years, and have been on 9.04 for a
while (waiting a month or two to go to 9.10).
Since I just started seeing this issue, it's possible that it won't
occur in every installation or in a test

I have what may be the same problem, and have also noticed that the
Analog Stereo Output profile is missing from the list of profiles in
pavucontrol in Karmic (only 4.1, 5.0, and 5.1 profiles area available
for output); the USB sound device worked just fine for me in Jaunty too,

best response i can give you is, unfortunately, that there are serious
issues with 9.10 karmic in some configurations.
you can add your own xorg.conf in karmic to get things working (pretty

Tony: OK that makes sense and is consistant with my experiences. If
logging in then logging out picks up the new DNS, then it makes sense
that reconnecting would also apply the change.
However there was no indication that I should reconnect. I was confused
and thought that the change would apply.
If you configure your DHCP to deliver multiple search domains (option 15
on MS DHCP), then, after each ifdown-ifup/reboot/disconnect-reconnect
using nm, you get the commas between the search domains on
/etc/resolv.conf. I have 3 ubuntu 9.10 at home and 1 9.10 at work; all
show the same behavior.

This has been happening to me for sometime in both jaunty and karmic so
firefox 3 and 3.5. It only happens when coming back to the desktop after
the screensaver has been running but then again not every time so I
can't make it happen. I can't type in the address bar at all. I type one
letter and

The system video crashed but the ssh session on the remopte computer
