I can confirm that Keiths PPA package works like a charm for reading
email. But as soon as I try to access my calendar, it all goes haywire.
My network traffic and disk i/o skyrocket and Evolution just hangs.

Mark Abene I patched /usr/share/lupin-support/grub-mkimage and did sudo
grub-install hd0 but I'm still going to the grub prompt when I reboot
and choose ubuntu and have to enter these commands whenever I want to
login.
It's so frustrating that something like this could happen in the first

Note: It turned out that it was the evolution-data-server-2.28 process
which was causing the network traffic, disk io and cpu to go haywire...
I decided to let it run its course and after about ten minutes it calmed
down again... now my calendar seems to be working without significant
problems.

Hi, looks like the problem is caused by removing an interrupt handler on
IRQ 11 which has already been removed.
The problem seems to start when the vortex 3c59x driver is suspended.
There seems to be an upstream fix to this, namely in commits:
