I switched to iBus after upgrading to Karmic but had duplicate language
icons (keyboard with globe) displaying in my Gnome panel, which I have

I confirm the gnome-panel high CPU usage/growing memory consumption
issue. It occurs on an upgraded Ubuntu 9.10, on a Lenovo T61 machine.

30 seconds counts from when I manually ubuntu in the grub menu ( hit
enter ) and when I can click the firefox button and it reacts in a
reasonable time. As soon as I clicked firefox, I stopped counting.
Firefox than takes a moment to load, but this does not count in the 30

Having a Zyxel G-302 v3, I can confirm this bug. The system will freeze
out at any moment : it can be during the boot or during the user
session, but it will freeze for sure if you try to connect to a wifi
network.

I patched the source, here's the debdiff.
This is my first patch, so I hope I've done it well. Any comment/suggestion
will be very useful.

I agree that it is a bug that the subwoofer moves along with the master.
A workaround that should have been working would be to load-module
module-alsa-sink control=PCM (which should make pulseaudio volume
control all channels equally) and then use alsamixer to control the
individual channels.

Could you please edit the file /var/lib/dpkg/info/grub-pc.postinst as root:
$gksudo gedit /var/lib/dpkg/info/grub-pc.postinst
change the first line to (add an 'x' )
#!/bin/bash -ex
Then run
$sudo /var/lib/dpkg/info/grub-pc.postinst configure 21 |tee

working on will now be saved.
The next time OpenOffice.org is launched, your files will be recovered

Well, 02_fix_nutrition_index_out_of_range.patch wasn't meant to be a fix
for the nutrition database so much as simply preventing the index out of
range error. There seemed to be other things wrong with the nutrition
database at the time, so I just added a little defensive programming
until a fixed
