In Lucid with alacarte 0.12.4-1ubuntu, a menu item still disappears for
almost 2 seconds when dragging it to the same or a different folder.
Also, dragging and dropping doesn't move the item but makes a copy (even

I killed pulseaudio and ran PULSE_NO_SIMD=1 pulseaudio - from the shell
which fixed the problem. Then i ran pulseaudio - without the variable
being set and the problem was still gone. Then i ran pulseaudio from another
shell and still everything works.

As of Tue Jan 12 08:57:44 PST 2010, this seems to have been fixed. I
updated the system with apt-get a few minutes ago, a large number of
packages were updated. After rebooting, the screen now appears normally.
I am not sure what package(s) were changed to fix the problem.

Pedro, I can't find a bug report yet, but I have found some discussions
about this. There are a lot of pros and cons with the different
approaches. The 'problem' is mostly with bash's approach with managing
multiple sessions (i.e. - it doesn't, nor should it). gnome-terminal
can invoke bash in
