client can't find the keyring daemon, which is required for Ubuntu One

I'm not 100% certain, but this bug report looks a heck of a lot like bug
#506510, and I think it shares the same root cause. The problem is that
error messages were being written to the log after the log file was
closed, which causes a segfault in the signal handling code.

I believe this X crash is due to error messages being printed to the log
file after the log file has been closed. This was being done in the
signal handler due to a Ubuntu patch. I've corrected the patch to not
print these errors, which should eliminate this crash.

I do not get the error now, but in the computer (A) where I was getting
the error, now I always get 0 notes updated and there is no new
content transferred in any direction. I don't get the updates made in
computer B and even if I modify a note and synchronize right away from
A, I get 0 notes

This old bug report I have totaly forgotten about. I kind of remember that

Yeah, the X driver system in debian/ubuntu for proprietary drivers was
designed with an assumption that the system has just one video device.

Jean-Baptiste - I tried your instructions and it fails for the same
reason the ttf-mscorefonts-installer fails: ubuntu does not honor the
proxy settings for certain use cases, like this.
Even though I have a proxy clearly defined, and it's used most of the
time, i.e. web access and straight-up
Is there a certain place the files need to be located in for 'sudo make'

I'm having a similar problem on generic notebook with a Pegatron motherboard.
The notebook/motherboard seems similar to the BenQ Joybook S57.
The fan works on the Mandriva 2009.0 that came installed with it and (!) with
linuX-games-live 0.9.4. Booting Ubuntu with acpi=off seems to keep the fan
