Unless I add radeon.modeset=0 (i.e. disable KMS) I invariably get a
screen corruption after log-on (using kdm). That is, I can log on but at

Thats strange... solved this issue by installing libcupsys2 from _debian_
package:
# dpkg -i libcupsys2_1.3.9-17ubuntu3.4_all.deb
then just installed .deb's for drivers and it works ok. what's the catch?..

Looking at http://packages.ubuntu.com/lucid/python-gda this will not be an
issue in Lucid, but what about Karmic?
It looks like a packaging issue which can be fixed relatively easy.
