Hi,
Yes, this continues to be an issue. Headphone jack outputs sound,
built-in speakers do not. I have the latest version of Ubuntu and all
current updates. The problem started about 6 months ago after a typical
automatic update. I'll try the "apport" suggestion.

Thanks to the online docu I tried again using a CD instead of a DVD and
booting worked.
The b/g wlan was detected with lucid (but I couldn't handshake - may have
been my mistake adding key).
The n wlan was *not* detected with lucid (but it was before and after with

Yesterday when logging into pidgin, I received in warning in Japanese
indicating that support for Version 7 of Yahoo Messenger is to be
dropped in about 2 weeks. It seems that Yahoo Japan will then cease to
function in Pidgin.

on wubi with 10.40 daily.
Long story short, I cannot boot with new kernel image. Old kernel image
works ok.

Well, the virtual machine I was testing with did not have a
"~/.xscreensaver" (but the screensavers still appeared) and I'd imagine
if that script does need to be run that it should be run as a part of
the package installation.

The graphic card is a nVidia 310 M. I currently have the proprietary
driver 195.36.08 installed through the package nvidia-current.
I directly installed Lucid alpha 3 on this machine, so I can't tell if
it worked with previous versions.
