Hi Draycen! The menu bar was no big deal to set back. There’s something
a bit strange about that: after doing the Ubufox juggling I ended up
with Ubufox installed, and the menu bar seemed to reset itself after
every FF restart. (I just uninstalled it and it stopped happening.) But
I had Ubufox
Yuri Khan's PPA works for me, though I have to set the gconf keys to get
the desired behavior. Perhaps the defaults for those keys could be
changed to give the Jaunty behaviour back?

mayavi is still in unstable and not in lucid, so the
(correction mayavi2 version 3.3.1 is still in debian unstable) To get a
Karmic backport, the package must be in Lucid (which it is not and might
not be included before Lucid's release).

now I only attached the Karmic .doc icon and not the xls, ppt or adp
