Node autoregistration runs:
/usr/sbin/euca_conf --no-rsync --skip-scp-hostcheck --register-nodes ${IP}
So it's *not* exercising the rsync codepath. It usually fails because
the authorized_keys on the NC are not set on a package based install and
must be done manually.

@Mathias: see my question at comment 3, the attached preseed and log are
about the failing UEC install, not the corresponding (working) non-UEC
install on the same hardware. I'm trying to understand what makes this
bug UEC-specific.

Reading your instructions at
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UEC/PackageInstall
I'd probably do Exchange Public SSH Keys before Publish, which should avoid
the initial return code 1 failure.

Here is a proposal:
Add a statuscmd function in the puppet debian service provider. If the
initscript script is a symlink to /lib/init/upstart-job, use the
following command as the statuscmd instead of the default [initscript,
:status] defined in the init provider:
sh -c invoke-rc.d SERVICE
Presumably even if there is i18n, you could force LANG=C or similar?

qemu-kvm and guest kernel 2.6.24 sporadic boot fail: Kernel panic - not
syncing: IO-APIC + timer
Marking High, as this needs to be resolved before Lucid's release. I'm
going to to target it at 10.04 GA.
Marking Incomplete, as we don't yet have enough information to debug
this yet.
I ran instances without a problem in the same setup (manually
installed). I'm hoping there's just a problem
Thanks for the research Chris.
Marking Triaged, since you've tracked this down to the upstream mailing
list posts. Marking Low, since kernels 2.6.24 are (hopefully) becoming
increasingly rare.
To your two suggestions... I know that upstream qemu in the past has
really, really tried to avoid
Segfaults are no good! Marking Medium. Thanks for testing against
10.04 too!

Greetings,
in Kubuntu 10.4
Define samba share(s) in /etc/fstab.
All works fine (gets mounted, re-mounted after a suspend)
Only problem comes at system reboot / shutdown
It seems to me that network (wifi in this case) goes down BEFORE remote mounts
