Using the latest kernel, capslock key is working again but scroll lock
isn't. I don't know if this is a bug or whether it's meant to be like
that as scroll lock is not really used in an X session. Scroll lock
light isn't showing up in a terminal window either, however.

I was somehow guessing that EXA could be the culprit and tried to verify
my guess by disabling EXA.
How could I do that?
Simply renaming /usr/lib/xorg/modules/libexa.so did not work, the server
gets a fatal error when it cannot locate the file.

This glitch has not been happening every time I start up. However I

Haksell's fix (#50) works, but only in the strictest sense of the word.
It's touchpad functionality at it's most basic, is unaccelerated, and
side scrolling is disabled. Further, touchpad configuration becomes
disabled in the GUI configuration tool.

of course. apt will always install the package with the highest
version. It will not prefer packages from ubuntu just because they are

I was able to solve this issue by turning of my Nikon D90, closing Rhythmbox
and turning my camera back on.
Apparently Rhythmbox locks the device (it didn't even get mounted when it was
open).

You were right. Despite I did not have problem during update from 9.19
to 10.04, I made a new install (not an upgrade), keeping my /home on
separate partition, and problem is solved, everything working perfectly
(and so fast !)

This is still happening for me with all the latest updates. It only
happens on the LCD panel when there is a screen connected to the VGA
port. The VGA output is fine. Are lspci outputs helpful?

I wouldn't say that a fix is released, since it's only a workaround
using an unsupported release candidate kernel. I think a real fix would
be to have this fix backported to official lucid (and maybe karmic)
kernels, but until that it's a working *temporary* solution. :)
