This will surely work, but its for me not the solution to the problem.
The problem is not wget, but the sudo wget. If a user does a proxy
setting from the menu, and says 'system wide', it should work system
wide. For corporate administrators, this might be the reason not to
switch to 10.04. So,

I ran into this exact same issue installing Kubuntu 10.4 on a Mac Pro.
I have a second drive installed specifically for that installation and

I second that. The patch fixed my problem as well, even though I only
used it to disable L0S, not L1. Recent compat-wireless doesn't compile
for the latest lucid kernel (due to the wext refactoring thing), but
with 2.6.35-4-generic from maverick it works perfectly.

rdoc is currently NBS. While the NBS page shows a lot of rdepends,
ruby1.8 now provides rdoc and the only packages that have a versioned
build-depends on rdoc have it as an alternate to ruby1.8. In the
