i see, so it is software problem, nothing hardware. can u recount
how do u get to this stage of getting the software to work again?
(did u do anything, or just simply reboot your machine?)
many bug report is linked to resuming from suspend, and the sound
driver somehow cannot suspend and resume
I have also had this bug at upgrading from 9.10 to 10.04, amd64.
Since I made an image before upgrade, I just reversed it.
Processes ate up all my PC's resources until swap was full. See attached
screenshot.
This took place at 1st July via internet upgrade (GUI).

But look likes the new kernel update (2.6.32-23, or some update that came at

I have also a Problem with this SiS 191 Adapter.
I can use the Internet (slow connection), but as soon as i try to connect to
other pcs in the network (1Gbit) i only get rx error (testet with three
different gigabit switches) / while surfing in the internet there ist NO rx
error, while working
so this is not specifically a ubuntu kernel bug. a stock 2.6.32.15
kernel also shows the issue.
it looks like there were some IPSEC locking fixes in net/ipv4/ah4.c that
went on between 2.6.32.15 (broken, just like the lucid kernel) and
2.6.33.5 (working), specifically commit
