I tried both suggestions:
1) Plugging in the cable after switching to VT1: the system freezes and the
screen goes black, even without switching back to X
2) Plugging in the cable, running `sleep 30; xrandr -q` and then switching to
VT1: screen goes black almost immediately, before the 30
ok, I just find out that the errors are present in the old kernel too
(2.6.32.21, see attachement), it just appears that they are not
displayed at startup.

The LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT change does not work on jaunty atleast. But

Same here, every 6 seconds, on Dell Studio 1558 Intel Core i5, Broadcom,
PCI device ID 14e4:4353, Ubuntu 10.04 LTS AMD64. Using WICD instead of
network manager does not help, turning off wireless security does not
help either (these were some tips I found). I am using the latest
Broadcom Linux

One of the many automatic backtraces and gdb attachments show a backtrace
haning in libpam-mount / pam_end.
Digging deeper I rebuild pam-mount with DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=nostrip. The bug then
could no longer be reproduced. I then rebuild libpam-mount without any
DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS and the bug also

I have a patch for desktopcouch, but I can't decide on the best way to
handle this down.
desktopcouch is a thin wrapper around python-couchdb, and in creating
and using views, client programs access and use python-couchdb functions
directly. Here's one problem I can't fix inside desktopcouch

And one more thing, if I lock (ctrk+l) desktop, this bug doesn't come,
both monitors have correct settings when I power them off and on. Only
when the desktop is active-unlocked

If you maximize a window, then switch to another window, the gnome panel
appears over top of the maximized window as it should. But if you then
kill the newest window, which then sets the focus back to the maximized
window, the gnome panel stays
