I have tried:
1. Removing disk from CD drive. 2. Changing boot order to HDD first
3. Removing all USB devices. 4. Blacklisting gspca_vc032x
5. Removing PM from startup list 6. Reinstalling PM
None of them worked for me. The only thing that I can add to the discussion is
Teaching Jockey about gobi-loader is relatively easy, gobi-loader's udev
rules provide a nice vendor-product list already. However, this won't
help at all with retrieving the firmware, of course. Incidentally I got
a new laptop last Friday (ThinkPad x201), which also has one of those
gobi modems,

The bug was observed on a friends system that suffered the inadvertent
contrast-set-to-zero problem. I can reproduce it on my system. Start
totem on any video, click edit-preferences-display .Slide the contrast
to zero or very low, close totem, and start mplayer on the same video.

the chown of the working directory in mono-xsp2.postint. I think that
the chown can simply be removed because it's created and chowned in the

but it seems to be down at the moment.

Did see the issue with XUbuntu 9.04 and earlier, with both Nvidea and
ATI cards (both without Compiz). I'm now running a new system (ATI) with
a fresh installed Ubuntu 10.04, without Compiz, and issue of autoscroll
rendering issues seem to be solved.
Has the issue been fixed in 10.04?

Just found those issues when investigating the debian GS packages and the
dependencies.
I also wrote some text to launchpad bug #611262 and bug #576991 dealing with
Guys, it was ten months ago! Of course I don't remember what I was doing
that time exactly. And I'm sure I would describe steps to reproduce back
then if I would able to do it. Most probably it was just a random
crasher in the middle of something. Anyway since you've refactored the
