This Function Wizard bug exists in the 1:3.2.1-6ubuntu1~10.04.1 0 build too,
so I think there is a regression:

If you build the ceph sources, and then call mkcephfs -c ceph.conf with
the osd configuration pointing to /data/osd0, you'll end up with

just trying to move the mouse cursor on the desktop), X crashes after
mgl described what's happening with my machine quite well: 4GB RAM,
large swap partition, hibernate works but resume is extremely slow with
continuous disk activity...

I was mad to find a way to reproduce this bug crazy.
For Lucid (LTS):
1 - Install a clean 10.04.1. Without updates.
2 - Just started the bug occurs with very low probability.
3 - Add the top panel applet "System Monitor" and modify preferences to check
the CPU and "Hard Disk" (this is important)
If you have pulled out the source from git, then cd ldtp2;git pull #
should do the job for you.

language selector tool. This is more of a usability bug than an actual
bug, but it still makes on wonder why you have to set the language
twice...

Making the changes suggested in comment #8 by ody has completed solved
the problem for me.
My clients have /var mounted on a separate local partition and users
home mounted over the network via NFS.
