Also solved for original post. The UNetbootin v494 worked with the new
Ubuntu 10.10 release. I now have the ubuntu-10.10-netbook-i386.iso
installed on my Acer Aspire One AOD260 using the USB pendrive. Thanks

Let me clarify. The touchpad works. Multi-touch features work. But
the sensitivity of the touchpad seems to be much different then under
windows. I sometimes have to press with a bit of pressure to make it
work. So the sensitivity does not seem to be constant. But I'm not
really sure about

This patch exposed a locale bug (bug #660798) that is present in (at
least) ru_RU.UTF-8. I've uploaded 5.32.0-0ubuntu3 with the attached
patch that fixes the problem

I found out that if the lyrics plugin is installed and active banshee
freezes. I tested this by disabling all the plugins then enabling them
one at a time (on their own) and trying to play a song. Banshee
consistantally froze when the lyrics plugin was enabled.

Well, I got the first part of my bug report correct. I was totally
confused! I will document my error for others to benefit from (and at
least get a good laugh).
This is my first hearing of something called WiMAX. The WiMAX address
was the only number on the bottom of my computer that resembled a
I applied the ppa package update mentioned above and it worked perfectly
- no issues. Had to change to secure authentication though. I'm

Using keyboard special keys causes the system to not respond to any
mouse input. Ctrl+Alt+Del and restart is the only option that worked for

On one of my machines, maverick, lirc works just fine after I did a
dpkg-reconfigure lirc. On the other, also maverick, with the same microsoft mce
remote and receiver, it treats it as a keyboard (the volume keys adjust the
volume without lirc running). Not even copying the config files from
no havent got this anymore

The program keeps stating that it Cannot Read from Source when I put in
my Netflix DVD. I know the DVDs works because I played it on my DVD
player for my TV and on my Windows Vista computer.
I tried other DVDs too and this same message content.

Confirmed on Acer Aspire 4741G. Initial install was fine on default
graphics drivers. But the Ubuntu recommended the installation of the
NVIDIA drivers and that is when I get the WMID error and it locks out on
the Boot Screen after 2 dots are lit. The system is totally
unresponsive. Forced
