It actually worked fine in Lucid when I tried it now. It might depend on
what video sources are available, seeing that it crashes in
video_preview_start/ms_load_jpeg_as_yuv in your stacktrace.

Yeah, seems to be affecting HP Pavilion dv6XXX Laptops, with 4 reports
now. Yes, the old kernel / 10.04 works fine with the SD Card Reader.
I now have quite a few issues with 10.10, and some ongoing unresolved
ones that were also present in previous releases.

Yes, I tried that and it works, but video playback is choppy and I don't
want to loose Xv. I tried with Lucid and Maverick Live CDs and could
play videos (bad quality), but I think it's because radeon driver does
not support Xv. Using fglrx + totem screen goes black :(

I have the same issue with a Dell Inspiron 1150 (Intel 852/855 gfx)
running ubuntu 10.10 on 35-22 kernel. I can't get the commit
fbf81762e385d patch to apply, I always get hunk failed errors.
I tried the option sudo -i echo N
/sys/module/drm_kms_helper/parameters/poll but there is no parameters

I have solved the problem by removing pulseaudio completely.

Same bug on my Asus eeePC 1005HA: mp4 videos with AAC sound play without
sound, and at a slightly accelerated rate, for some seconds before

airodump-ng) show me lists of networks and NetworkManager can try to connect to

Thought I would add a quick update.
Downloaded and installed VMware Server Console 1.0.10 and tried it, getting the
same error. Downloaded and installed version 1.0.9 and 1.0.6 and still getting
the same error message. Which is very odd, because prior to upgrading from
10.04 to 10.10 VMware
I downloaded the 'linux-
image-2.6.36-999-generic_2.6.36-999.201010180905_amd64.deb' from the
MainlineBuilds and installed it. I got a uname of '2.6.36-999-generic
#201010180905 SMP Mon Oct 18 09:09:44 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux'. With
this kernel, everything works regarding the SD-Card-Reader.
