I accept all updates for Ubuntu 10.10. The last kernel I have is
2.6.35-22-generic-pae.
So, as far as I understood, oriolpont just confirmed that OLDER kernel do not
produce this problem.
The middle button is still not working on my M6500, ubuntu 10.10, 32bits ,

Hi Simon741,
I did a reinstallation of Ubunutu 10.10 without selecting "Download
updates during installation". Then the "additional drivers" manager
shows me two options of drivers, the b43 and the STA. I did select the
STA, and now mi wireless card is working.
Mi laptop is a Dell Latitude E6400.
Just wondering whether there are any new insights? I've tried several
upstream kernels, but had no success.

Fun, this seems to be related to t1.micro vs m1.large (and maybe
larger). I am able to successfully replace the kernel on a m1.large. But
the t1.micro is, as you say, not even bothering updating the console
messages. And you said kvm boots fine. Was that with just a single vcpu?

The computer I'm able to reproduce this on is running 10.04 (Gnome). I tried to

Resolved now by using the mainline kernel 2.6.36! All power functions
work great, no matter what kind of LAN/WLAN/GSM card is plugged in.
Additionally the maverick kernel seems to have a PCMCIA hot-plug problem
which caused a segmentation fault and the need to reboot after pulling a

Solved:
Due to lack of documentation, I invoked the command with the wrong
arguments. It dynamically build *.so filenames dependant ont the
commandline. I figured out that this line does indeed work, as the
dependency then resolves to libgenerator_smoke.so, which is provided by
the dependencies.

Tried to connect my Garmin eTrex GPS via USB/Serial cable. Trying to read data

This still affects me on Maverick. The emblem does not change. If I place a
couple of small files in the folder the emblem quickly switches to green,
without going to to green/blue. In this case, if I place more files in the
folder, the emblem stays green - does not switch to green/blue. It seem

Did you try installing the last drives for your hardware and using alsamixer to
select the right mic and to set the mic boost? (In my case I needed to set it
in 30).
Once you have it working, you can use the following command to persist changes:
sudo alsactl store 0

had to fix and modify a lot: mainline kernel, xservers from lucid, and a
self-compiled savage xserver from the lucid sources as I had to do a
