I can confirm this bug after upgrading from lucid to maverick.
Users with administrative rights used to be asked for their password when
shutting down the system and other users were logged in. This doesn't work
anymore.
Please note the following line in the .xsession-errors.old attached above:
It happens on karmic as well. Probably from something introduced in the
policykit 0.9-4 release.

I also experience constant freezes with maverick when going into suspend. The
suspend seems to go well, network, hard drive etc... is turned off, but the

I performed a fresh reinstallation and captured 5 minutes of video.
(It's a VMware virtual machine, so that's easy to do.) "Installing the
base system" starts at 2:28, and for most of the progress of that step,
the border looks pretty. It becomes ugly during the installation of
console-setup (3:44)

As a test I tried the firefox versions in ppa:ubuntu-mozilla-daily/ppa.
I now have "namoroka 3.6.14pre" and "minefield 4.0b9pre" and they are
both *much* faster than the standard maverick firefox when browsing
launchpad.

If you read that Redhat bug - and specifically my comment on it - you
will see that the title is misleading. It was probably wrongly closed
when it was also being moved against gnome-screensaver (and should have
been retitled).

I have the same Problem on my hp 8710p. The middle touchpad button is
treated as the left-mouse button. I have the newest packages (backports)
