This problem has actually been plaguing me for a while, through previous
versions of Ubuntu and Firefox, but it took me a while to figure out how
to reliably reproduce the problem and trace it back to Firefox.
Transitions now snap on both the A and B tracks, which clip edge is
closest, and also based on which direction the transitions is being
dragged. Also, the direction of the transition now automatically
adjusts (if Snap mode is enabled), based on which overlapping clip (A or
B) is first.
And... the
"udisks --ata-smart-refresh /dev/sdx" immediately got the data on a test
system here using the Maverick livecd. So although it's a bit more
awkward, it's possible to get smart info from the Lucid/Maverick livecds
using that command. However it would be nice to have the data
immediately displayed wi

I just found out the source of the problems was an outdated version of
the windows nx client i used.
A workaround for this was to change the theme to the "Clearlooks" theme,
maybe that helps for future problems as well.

A little problem, I made an alpha1 CD and started live environment but
SMB sharing is not enabled by default and trying to auto load needed
files failed, could not find those, I'll try another time later and do
a real install on hard disk.
