Just wanted to add that I experience the same problems on Ubuntu 10.10
(Maverick). Unity is really unresponsive. I already ran top sorted by
cpu and memory but there was no indication that the machine was busy.

It's not out of the ordinary for Ubuntu to maintain a few patches the
fix problems that upstream doesn't want to fix. Hiding the menu
accelerators is what most of Ubuntu's default applications do, so it's
not unreasonable for the user to expect everything in Ubuntu to do it.

GL_MAX_TEXTURE_SIZE" here? It's probably that the max. texture-size is
2048 on your intel GPU. For such cases we'll need a fallback code-path

A simpler workaround (two click solution) is to just click "switch user"
to open the fast user switcher. Then, instead of selecting a new user,
reselect the passwordless account to get back in. You don't have to
uninstall the screensaver. You just have to know which buttons to click.

My Lenovo Thnkpad Edge 11 hangs up, when going up from suspend mode. Please
suppport that models or let me know how I can fix or whom I can ask to. I read
also in a forum that the battery lifetime in windows xp is one hour more then

Unity 2D based on Qt and works very well.

unzip in ubuntu 10.10 amd64 with windows zip archive with encoding
cp1251 and cp866 (cyrillic), and all works normally!
