Confirmed using the following setup:
qemu/libvirt vm running Maverick 10.10 i386 install; added two
additional network adapters and then bonded eth1 and eth2 using a fairly
standard bonding configuration (ifenslave as described above). ipv4
addressing works fine - however get the same error
Also noticed that even without bonding I get the same message every 5
minutes from ntp (but on the eth0 interface).

further update on that work-around: works as long as laptop doesn't

While I am pretty satisfied now with Ubuntu 10.04.1 with all updates
applied, the 10.10 is far from being perfect. I can directly compare
because I have 2 times exactly same hardware - one with 10.04.1 and
one with 10.10.
With the 10.10 I have problems with network (WLAN) and sound as

I upgraded to this latest version.
The problem is partly fixed. Unity-2d-launcher seems to be starting correctly
at login. But the unity-2d-panel is still not appearing, and gnome-panel does
appear instead.

I have installed the lts-backport-natty kernel on my E6410 running
Lucid.
One finger vertical scrolling works now.
I had to apply some additional patches from drm-intel-next to avoid the
blank screen on boot.
