I had smoketests failing on amd64 too on a local build. Well, the
smoketest was fine, but the JVM crashed right after successfully
finishing the smoketest. That failure mysteriously went away without any
relevant changes. I have not yet reenabled the smoketest on i386, but
will do soon to check,
This is a crash report from four months ago. I have no memory of it and
no idea whether it's reproducible. If apport should not have suggested
that I submit it, I suggest making that change in apport.

I have the same general problem of my external drive disconnecting after
some time, with an error log similar to the one in this bug report.
After the disconnect, I have to power-cycle the drive to get it to show
up again in My Computer. This is on a Lenovo T61 laptop running Ubuntu

Andy,
I rebooted without a second monitor and redid my tests (quickly). No
problem found. I attached the second monitor on the fly. Detection
worked fine, no issues to report.
What I like most is that I'm now able to suspend/resume the laptop.

Eh, I didn't notice at first, but this is actually fixed in SBCL
1.0.45.9 in the upstream -- without --no-as-needed.
...though I maintain that for SBCL --no-as-needed is actually exactly
the right thing. If we specify linking against library, we do that
because we want dlsym() to be able to find
