Hey Paul, it seems it's related to bug #731872 but the persistent
behavior of the launcher in my case is not just for several seconds. It
stays there no matter what you do with the mouse, and indefinitely until
you restart unity. Even re-setting the hiding preference in CompizConfig
does not help.

me on Arch Linux, so I can mount floppies from Nautilus again. Currently
all linux distributions that use udisks version 1.0.2 have broken floppy
support due the nonexistant floppy patch[3].
