But if multiple settings are changed via the Setting menu (of if one
setting is toggled back and forth) who system may become unresponsive.

While running speed crunch, when I go up to Settings menu and change any
given setting, while the change does take effect, it is not reflected
when I open the Setting

Happens every time my computer resumes from suspend.
It's does however not have an impact on the system, Ubuntu just tells me
there was a serious kernel issue.

This one is weird. So, I'm making a little Qt4 app, and this app uses a modal
file dialog. Whenever I open and close a file dialog, a brand new icon appears
in the launcher, pointing at my application. This seems to create some kind of

After some debugging, the bug is in hal and not in laptop-mode-tools.
This seems to be a recurrence of the bug reported here:

A fix is to bump up the HAL_PATH_MAX macro to 4096 from the 512 that is
currently used in the hal sources.
