I tried the setting that Marc Deslauriers suggested above, and DHCP is
still not setting my search domains. I restarted NetworkManager, and
even rebooted the machine. Still nothing. I made sure
/etc/dhcp/dhclient.conf and /etc/dhcp3/dhclient.conf both had the same
information, as I don't know
The package in Proposed appears to solve this for me. I'll keep using it
and let you know if anything goes wrong.

Problems does seem to be with poppler. I installed the latest version
from source (http://poppler.freedesktop.org/) and xpdf works again.
I do not know if it helps anyone but valgrind points at
GlobalParams::findFontFile(GooString*, char**) (in
/usr/lib/libpoppler.so.13.0.0) as the guilty party.

I'd also like to note this isn't by any means a underpowered rig; I
built it a few months ago with gaming and CPU intense tasks such as
compiling and multimedia work in mind. Surely a quad core Phenom II
clocked at 3.2GHz is overkill for linux, right? I've got a Radeon HD
5670 for the graphics
Still having this problem under natty and mint 11.
I can still get around it by copying one directory at a time and
sleeping 10+ between directories.
Is that a hardware problem? Two laptops, different vintages, different
processors, from different manufacturers, different disks, including
one
But the 2.6.32 is not working either...
Before testing the 2.6.35 I was on the 2.6.32-31-generic-pae.

significant usability bug for Unity, as you can no longer paste commands
to run from instructions on the Internet, or copy and paste a file name
to, say, edit text file by running gedit
