with the same problem. Going in ~/.local/share/applications and deleting
compiz.desktop, gnome-wm.desktop and mutter.desktop (anything related to

The instruction from wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingCasper did not work.
I rewrote the usb key and got the same result as I did last time.
I have taken a screenshot of where the installation process hung. The

Strange... not getting error now. Didn't encrypt home folder this time.

based card, it is possible to remove the tg3 module without first
disabling the interface.
rmmod tg3 will result in the module being removed and the machine -

Hey again,
The Xserver restart just happened again. A quick look into
/var/log/Xorg.0.log.old revealed that the Xserver restart has a
segmentation fault as reason.
I attach Xorg.0.log, Xorg.0.log.old, .xsession-errors and .xsession-
errors.old for further details.

I have two video cards. One video card drives two monitors in TwinView.
The second video card drives a single monitor using a Separate X Screen.
