looked right and if I displayed it over an ssh tunnel to a cygwin box
the icons were correct.

when opening menus, if I open File, then Edit, and go back and fourth a

With both xsane and simple scan I am unable to scan using my HP Scanjet 8200.
This was working in 10.10, but broke with the upgrade to 11.04.
xsane reports Failed to open device`avision:libusb:002:006': Operation not
supported
I've probably picked the wrong package, there
This has failed on both an upgrade from 10.10 and a clean install of
11.04. Both on a system where the scanner was working on 10.10

yavoh, I've noticed this also in non-Unity gnome shell. Your
reproduction method did not produce the problem. However, I tried
opening two Writer files simultaneously via the Terminal on Desk 1:
lowriter -nologo example.odt example1.odt
both opened on Desk 2.
