I have not been able to reproduce the memory leak on 11.04 with either
Shotwell 0.9.3 or the current 0.10+trunk. My Quadcore CPU runs as high
as 240%, but memory usage does not climb above 200MB for importing
30,000 photos.

I don't quite understand the code-path that leads to vfprintf() being
passed a NULL file-handle, but I see that we're calling
xmlCleanupParser() in both load_gpx_string_into_list() and
load_gpx_file_into_list(), and we should *never* be calling that,
because it basically unloads libxml2.

I have the exact same problem on an Asus U31J with a Core I3 and a
GeForce 415m running 64 bit Natty. I also tried the latest driver from
nvidia. At least with Natty (unlike Maverick) I was able to get to a
TTY to undo the scripted xorg.conf.
I'll be watching this log very closely. Thank you and

The application I was having issues with was Ida (the disassembler). The
native Linux client is only pre-compiled 32-bit, and utilizes Qt for the
graphics libraries. It ships with the .so's for Qt, but I found that I
needed to install the i386/ia32 versions of

* libavahi-glib1
* libb
Not only images from OpenOffice are to blame here. I just recently ran into
this bug by creating an overhead layout of my apartment in Inkscape. I set the
page size to 10 x 10 metres, and the resulting image, though frugal in content,

I erased both my hard drives
installed fresh win7 on one,
installed fresh ubuntu11.04 64bit on the other,
installed video drivers in ubuntu ,
installed all updates in ubuntu,

I agree with scott symmank above. Every time I log on to my Acer
AspireOne that little notification bubble pops up and won't go away --
even though I am connected to a wireless network. The only way to get of
it is to click the X to close it.
Every. Single. Log in. Very annoying.

For parcellite, this command made the tray icon come back in Unity:
gsettings set com.canonical.Unity.Panel systray-whitelist "['all']"
(then you have to logout and back in)
However, AutoKey's tray icon still doesn't appear, after this setting
change. I have AutoKey set to load up
IMHO, VNC, specifically vino, is the single most common crack I see on
the Ubuntu forums.
While VNC servers may be familiar to new users coming from Windows, and
while it may be disabled by default, it is all too easy for new users to
enable and then their router forwards the port via UPnP.

We will not ship this kernel. I will revert the three patches related to
USB3, and when we can determine what the problem was, we will reinsert
the patches. This is related to bug #769042.

AutoKey is must-have productivity application. It is a pain for me to
