Could you try booting the system with 'apparmor=0' in the boot arguments? If

package rsyslog-mysql 4.6.4-2ubuntu4 failed to install/upgrade:
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit
on Oneiric i386 get xsession-errors flooded by these errors.
Attached below xsession-errors immediatly after logging as classic
without effects (same issues if logged with a different choice)

Have removed/purged all the panel icons but things are not better. Have
removed/purged then reinstalled: gnome-panel*, gnome-session* but get
the same issues

I just reviewed the deja-dup upload in the natty-proposed queue. It
seems the new upstream version reverts pretty much all the Help
translations? E. g.
