know what? I got impatient, so first I tried recompiling the kernel,
then when that didn't work I just upgraded to 11.04 and right now I am
actually in kde, reinstalling gnome. I'm not sure if it will still help

In Natty with thin scrollbars, a vte widget inside a Scrollwindow will keep
incrementally growing wider and wider.
This only happens with no horizontal scrollbar and with vertical scrollbar, and
it only happens with the thin scrollbars on Natty. If the old-style scrollbars
the radeon module doesn´t work the screen just stays black.. but i have
the same issue with fglrx right now.. maybe this is another deeper
problem in my system configuration.. i will try to reinstall my ubuntu,
because i have updated from 10.04 up to oneiric and changed many things
by hand.. which
