Thank you for requesting this backport. I have moved this bug to the
lucid-backports project. However, due to the rules of backports, we
must allow for upgrades to not introduce regressions, so to backport
this to Lucid, it would have to be backported to maverick and natty as
well until maverick
This should be fixed in oneiric. However I'm not sure what the simplest
way is to fix it in natty and downward.

It's definitely also happening in Debian (surprise, surprise...).
However, I'm not convinced anymore, that it has to do with DNS
resolution. OTOH I haven't gone to the trouble of trying to capture
network traffic when this occurs, so I can't be certain.
