FWIW, I tested a Nvidia GPU in the same system with 'nvidia-current' and
'nouveau'. The Nvidia BLOB didn't show any lagging or increased Xorg CPU
usage. However, Nouveau showed the same as Intel - screenshot attached.

There is one way to temporary fix it.
Start gnome-screensaver in console, and you can lock the screen.
But unfortunatly, screensaver segfault after unlock the screen.

I use a bluetooth keyboard and mouse (Logitech DiNovo). It works great exept
that at login (using KDM) the keyboard is always set to US keymap. After the
login it gets the correct keymap. Also using a USB keyboard at login works
(correct keymap).

log doesn't show any error output by rm... do you still have dropbox
running maybe?
Can you give us the output of those commands: "ps aux|grep dropbox" and

No Screensaver set, Screen seems to blank anyway after about ten
minutes, no way to switch it off in Settings. When playing a video, even
when the player is set to inhibit screensaver during playback it blanks
anyway. Don't know if this is related to this crash which occured after
swiping the mouse
I faced this with the workaround for chromium webapps on Jorge Castro's
blog, opening a link from a webapp would make it part of the app and not
part of chromium

not unity's fault and I am not sure if its nautilus bug or not. Could
you try ubuntu 11.10 beta which have a very new version of nautilus and
the gnome stack.
