Same problem here using a Sony Walkman NWZ A818. The device is recognized
correctly in mtp mode by the system and it works fine with Rhythmbox, but
simply doesn't appear in Banshee 2.2 from Ubuntu 11.10 (and previous versions
of course).

I'm afraid I'll simply have to try to reproduce this on a maverick
system and debug with gdb, as per the linked redhat bug, upstream is not
sure what fixed the problem between 0.8.8 and 0.9.0.

Ok, I've just tested the latest upstream kernel onto ubuntu 10.04.3 lts
and the bug is not present, the problem is definitely within ubuntu
11.10 but not in the kernel.

The only reference of the picture_opacity gconf key is removed by
below commit from Nautilus. Maybe this is not a bug (or feature request)
of Nautilus.

I installed NFS-COMMON in this way and some packages were removed by
this action.
Now everything is working.
