I just ran apport-collect 907333 I authorize my computer to connect
with Launchpad, but before collecting and sending data, I don't view
anything. But at terminal:

I have a 8760w which came with an NVIDIA Quadro 4000M and hat BIOS F.01.
This configuration booted okay, just like Ingo Gerth pointed out. After
upgrading the BIOS to the currently most recent F.21 version, this bug
occured. The nouveau.modeset=0 workaround works as advertised.

On my laptop, the screen brightness is set to 100% after each reboot.
Then I have to manually lower the brightness each time. This is tedious
