I really wanted to get the whole kexec/kdump functionality working for
12.04 which will be LTS. thanks to Steve for helping me out on this.

this time i encountered near-freeze on firefox, and succeeded to run task
manager in an attempt to kill the process that clogs the system - but task
manager showed up to 80% cpu use BY the task manager. i tried to get a
screengrab, but it didn't work. skinny elephants was the only solution.
