I was doing the install alongside option, which doesn't give the user
any choice as to which drive is used (which is one of the things I don't
like about it). That appears to apply to grub installation as well as OS
installation.
The machine has two sata drives, /dev/sda (80GB) and /dev/sdb
In case it's not clear, /dev/sda is set to boot first in the BIOS. To
boot from the SD card, I have to select the boot menu.

Hello,
I am having problems with my soundcard in a fresh install of ubuntu
10.04.
I have updated alsa to latest version 1.0.25 using this method:

Here is some information:
Man, that's fucked up,
It worked fine before, so I think that it is a regression.
I have Ubuntu, it doesn't come with gnome-shell, and I don't want to
install all this boatload of dependencies when I don't even use gnome-
shell and when it all worked fine without in the previous version.

- User goes to 'system settings', 'appearance'.
- The setting window appears
- User changes the pictures source from 'wallpaper´ to 'pictures
By the way, version 10.2.159.1 does not work with chromium-browser in
Natty, but it works with firefox.

I don't know anything about xonar dg, but the xonar dg driver was
written by Clemens Ladisch, who is active on the alsa-devel mailinglist.
Your best bet is to try that mailinglist and hopefully he has time to
reply.

the ie GNOME or Unity, the shell doesn't impact on those, what handle
the mouse config is xorg and gnome-settings-daemon and in that regard
Unity is just a GNOME session...
