FFe: Sync django-celery 2.4.2-1 (universe) from Debian testing
I have the same problem. For me the cause is the hard drive (Western
Digital Scorpio Blue 500GB) which seems to have only 2 modes: either it
doesn't spin down at all, or it spins down after 5 seconds. I have tried
various parameters with hdparm, and -B is the only thing that matters.

If you enable Facebook Login Approvals (in facebook.com Account
Settings Security Login Approvals [X] Require me to enter a
security code each time an unrecognized computer or device tries to
access my account) then Facebook sends a SMS to your phone with a code
you must enter in the login
I can also confirm the same behaviour on my x61s. After resuming from
suspend, mouse pointer can be seen on the sceen and can be moved around.
But the rest of the screen is blank. Have to resort to switch to console
to reboot the laptop to get out of the screen hanging.
