I can confirm, that my thunderbird ist just english after an update on ubuntu
10.04.
Further are all language packs installed as described above.
BUT: Even after making the symlink from /usr/lib/thunderbird-
addons/extensions to /usr/lib/thunderbird/extensions the thunderbird

I have enabled ssl3 in the server with this order:
ldapmodify -D cn=directory manager -W -p 389 -h localhost -x
dn: cn=encryption,cn=config
changetype: modify
replace: nsSSL3
nsSSL3: on
exit
restarted the server with ipactl restart and now the command ipa-client-install
initiates the joining

Could you please specify to which version you updated? I have alsa-
driver (1.0.25+dfsg-0ubuntu1) installed which is the latest version on
precise and the bug is not resolved for me (there was no update since
Feb 16). I have an Acer Aspire 6930, too.

I have switched to XFCE to get rid of the crashes that I experienced in
both Unity and Gnome 3, and the freeze in Unity. However, I logged in to
unity just now, and tried to switch workspaces several times. No freeze,
and much snappier than before.
