Your setup can't possibly work (and indeed it doesn't). You can't have
two interfaces going to the same network without proper bonding,
especially when you also set both as your default gateway with the same

Quite a few systems require almost a minute for the link to appear, so

Upgraded to Mint 13 and the wireless no longer works at all. In fact Fn
F5 which used to turn it on and off with a light lit/unlit displaying
the state never lights up no matter how often I reboot or press the Fn
F5 keys.
The only Internet access I have/had when using that computer is via
wireles

including most of ifupdown and our scripts.
