I did the file rename in #33, logged out and back in again and restored
the keyboard.gnome-settings-plugin filename and the problem did not come

time the keyboard error kicked in and none of them set off the num lock

I am trying to use BookSmart (http://www.blurb.fr/make/booksmart) with Wine.
It seems to work fine at first, but parts of the interface become black when I
move the mouse over them.

Your setup can't possibly work (and indeed it doesn't). You can't have
two interfaces going to the same network without proper bonding,
especially when you also set both as your default gateway with the same
metric.
What I think you want in your case is some simple bonding of both
interfaces,
no regressions observed

I didn't mean to criticise and if I was a developer I'd gladly help, but Ubuntu
kind of forced us to use Unity which now seems to be only half finished. Nobody
I know wants to switch to

So, starting with 12.10 both /etc/init/networking.conf and
/etc/init.d/networking will be the same upstart job and will include a
post-stop target calling ifdown -a.
So in theory, I could change it to stop on switching to runlevel1 and
start on switches to [2345], I'm just not convinced it's a
